The Fourth of July and Updates
I hope everyone was able to refresh this Independence Day with a great beer!
While my Fourth of July celebration was spent working I was able to review a beer that epitomizes the spirit of the American Craft Beer industry. Check out my review of Flying Dog’s Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale.
And yes…it is named Doggie Style.
Doggie Style was recently ranked by the New York Times as the number 1 pale ale from an American microbrewery. I certainly agree with their assessment, as Doggie Style may be the beer for everyone. It has a comfortable yet distinct hop taste that compliments well with a slight hint of sweetness from the crystal malt. Meant for hopheads and malt lovers alike, Doggie Style has a strong flavor that is surprisingly balanced.
Speaking of dogs, my friend Rainer sent me a pretty cool picture the other day. If you remember, Rainer wrote a blog post titled “Bowser Beer: It’s Beer For Your Dog”. Well apparently Rainer stumbled upon a stand that was selling and promoting Bowser’s Beer for dogs. So of course Rainer had to document it.

Now me and Rainer both want dogs.
So enjoy the review and Rainer’s blog post. Do not forget to comment either. That is always appreciated.
I will probably release #6 on the Best Beers of College list tomorrow or Wednesday. I doubt anyone will guess what it is.
How about a hint? It is has the same name as a video game.
If you get it right I will buy you a six-pack of a beer of your choice.
Good luck.
